you should have the butter simmering (just at the boiling point, BELOW the smoking point) and the grinded bud needs to be submerged. about 10 minutes is sufficient, the longer you go the nastier it gets. i strongly suggest using a teabag for clarifing it and a very small pot so you can submerge the weed better. make sure and use 2 spoons to sqeeze the excess butter in the tea bag out.
