Of course there are much worse songs, but fortunatly you hear them once and forget about them immediatly. Well to each his own, but I think to call it "appalling" is a way too liberal use of the word. I think everyone's liked that song at least at some point.
There are not only worse songs, but worse songs that are just as overplayed and well known. Who Let the Dogs Out, Achy Breaky Heart, We Built This City on Rock n Roll, the Macarina, every single Foreigner ever put out, etc.
