I've had a copy of Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables by the Dead Kennedys for a good three or four years, and I only really started to appreciate it as a classic a couple of days ago.

Little Creatures by Talking Heads was an album I always thought was a bit too pop-oriented and therefore a bit of dud. Took a good year or so for me to realise it's actually one of their best albums, and a real credit to the band's diverse musical talent.

Most of my favourite reggae albums took quite a while to grow on me too. 96 Degrees In the Shade by Third World, Marcus Garvey/Garvey's Ghost by Burning Spear and Gregory Isaac's Extra Classic are a few examples of this.
