I agree with Let It Be being mostly terrible.
Also, to set the record straight, The Beatles were
not "moving towards" a more stripped down sound at the time that they broke up. That would be to assume that Let It Be was their last work. It wasn't. It just so happens that it was released subsequent to Abbey Road, but much of it was recorded beforehand. Their true final full piece of work is Abbey Road.
