yeah i saw that... Having gone in with no idea what a 'grindhouse' was and little nostalgia for crummy exploitation flicks (except Coffy) it just didn't amuse me at all. It can't be just me that doesn't buy into this B-movie tribute stuff, it just seems a little half-arsed? Intellectually more than cinematically, if that makes sense. It looked great
Because the other end of the parody spectrum you've got 'Scary Movie' and the consequent factory-line of comedies that totally rely on the audience's awareness of cheap pop culture for laughs. How far the Zuckers have fallen since 'Airplane!'...
