Everyone loves to hate on green day now a days and thats udder bull**** in my opinion. Ive been listening to Dookie a lot recently, and sure a lot of there songs have Pop lyrics, but so what, all there riffs are usually fast and unrelenting. If Longview, Welcome to Paradise, and Walking Contradiction arn't "punk" then what the hell is. From my point of view punk has always been full of angst and politics and whatever else people like to bitch about, and sure enough Green Day is full of all of that. Granted they all tried to look like emo bitches now but there music is still good in my eyes, they just don't have to be in your face all the time, they can break it down and make just as good a song. Sorry for the rant, but Green Day, IMO!!!, is a good band they just try to progress with the times and unfortunately for them these times suck.
