I've always been willing to forgive Franz Ferdinand for their generic unoriginal dance-rock because they are:
a) first and foremost a pop group by their own admission
b) at least tried to be cool by appearing on the Fall documentary and generally bigging up brilliant Scottish post-punk of the 80's, so they listen to good music at least
c) last week's appearance on 'the Culture Show', which went in-depth into the making of their last album. It sounds horrible (jumping on the electro-revival bandwagon much?) but they seem like a nice intelligent bunch. Plus none of them are ugly
