My theory is that they're spread has been pretty much entirely through word of mouth, becuase if they were hyped by anything influential they would have gotten more listeners but less plays. Also that they don't have any streamable tracks.

Yeah that is so true and I just found this on a random blog.
Windir tops this list with 1,727,750 plays / 25,328 listeners = 68 plays per listener... and Windir don't exactly have the shortest songs either, unlike many of the bands on the list.
So is anyone going to check out Arntor?
