Think about this: everything there is sponsored. You have literally thousands of sponsors and other companies throwing advertisements in your face. Everything is presented by some company, you have Monster energy drinks, AT&T throwing out all of this promo crap left and right. I understand how Vans came to represent a skating event. That makes more sense. What I don't understand is how come so many companies take part in bludgeoning the tour-goers with so much incessant advertising. Basically, what has happened with Warped Tour is a bunch of companies found a way to make a lot of money off basically purchasing a share of the Warped Tour, and selling their image to kids, all in the name of "punk rock." Its the same thing that Mtv and myspace have done, they purchased a supposed alternative and subversive form of media, and now completely own every aspect of it, completely undermining the message that was there in the first place. The problem is, is that kids these days are too dumb to realize they just bought into a gigantic corporation's moneymaking scheme, and somehow think that this is still "punk."

It seems like this forum has some people who know a bit about the punk genre. This thread is not an example of that.
