Agreed, but more than that I'm bugged by people who study the bible just to prove that it is right. And never do they have any compelling ideas. It is frustrating when you see really intelligent people fighting so hard to prove what cannot be proved.
And yes, if the Bible is true, God does seem like a bastard, or at least we are his Bastard children.
P.S. i just started reading "god is not Great" by Christopher Hitchens, it seems pretty good so far and appears to be on topic with the religion/god theory being flawed.
