I have to admit to using Alcohol as an emotional crutch. Odd analogy I know. I have been drinking up to 5 nights a week but since the new year it's down to about three. Although I very very rarely drink during the day and I have not had a day of work for nearly 5 years.
I genuinely like the taste of alcohol and don't turn into a complete twat when i'm drunk so if that's my vice, then so be it.
I know that there are a fair few pot heads on here and that's just whatever gets you through the day. I gave up cigarettes over 2 years ago and Hash a long long time before. I eat well and look after myself so I am perfectly happy with my predilection for booze.
I have unfortunately seen a friend being virtually consumed by alcoholism and on the rare occasions that I see him, my heart goes out to him. When you talk to him his eyes are dead. It's like someone has switched a light off inside. I am grateful that I am mentally strong enough to not let alcohol control my everyday life.
