well when you go to see a movie on the pretext that it's about giant talking robots and it's direct by Michael Bay you don't expect much of it really. And what there was i thought was handled with some good laughs, Shia LeBeouf playing the classic neurotic Jewish kid-turned-hero.
The point is the movie served it's purpose, it allowed me to stuff my face with take-away and forget everything for a couple of hours; it was pure junk-indulgence and I didn't have to cringe at any ham-fisted attempts by the producers to make it relevant or deep. see: Pearl Harbour (an action movie posing as a historical drama)
