I'm not so sure. It does sound a bit dated to me in places, but there definitely are some absolute gems on there (
Accidents Will Happen,
Oliver's Army
and
Party Girl for example). It was the first Costello album I'd bought and I did used to love it, but albums like
Imperial Bedroom,
Get Happy and a few more of his later works do dwarf it in stature somewhat. There's nothing wrong with the songwriting, just that I feel the production lets the album down in places.
Janszoon, don't let me put you off - give it a go, by all means. If
Oh No It's Devo is your thing as you said in your (superb) thread, you'll probably enjoy the album more than I do
