Co-signed, movie of the hour. I wasn't expecting anything with
that much hype to live up to it, similar to the Dark Knight. It wasn't a bad film by any stretch of the imagination though and I would probably sling it a 7 since I'm in a generous mood. Liked the soundtrack (apart from MIA, she gets on my nerves for many reasons), the children were impressive but I've seen much more gut-wrenching examples in Indian cinema - where you weren't conscious you were watching one long build-up to a feel-good ending.
Much was made of Danny Boyle's gritty realism (again) but this of course just translates as shakey cameras and on-location shooting, so I don't understand what all the fuss was about. I won't bother watching this again for a few years. Apologies in advance to anyone who is offended by me not sharing their opinion!
