My high school had such a ridiculous amount of people in honors, with an entire GPA point added to theirs - so my respectable GPA of 3.6/4.0 barely got me in the top 50% of my class. Our valedictorian had a 5.0/4.0. I got a 1500 on my SATs but didn't qualify for the highest academic scholarship at my university because I didn't finish in the top 10%... But then I wrote a letter to my university and they gave me the top scholarship anyway

I don't think class rank should be an assessment of scholarships to universities.
