All Country's "mainstream"? Rubbish. Such a ridiculous statement is that that it is hardly worth replying to.
Just about all these bands mentioned in this thread are discussed in the Country/folk and world music board. Why be embarrassed to put them there?
Just to add I rarely visit this board because I have a dislike for the terms Indie and Alternative. Independent of what or alternative to what?! Maybe they meant something once but in this day and age, and on an educated site such as Music Banter they are meaningless terms.
