It didn't make me smile once and the female characters annoyed me. Steve Buscemi phones in his performance as leftovers from the very similar middle aged character he played in 'Trees lounge'.
Playing a trick on a middle aged man and then seemingly trying to make amends must have been the highlight of their graduation and I should imagine is what everyone wants to do when leaving school. I really dislike 'kooky' films. If you want to watch teenagers and their dissatisfaction with life then watch 'Heathers' or 'Pump Up The Volume'. Hell even 'Mallrats' with it's peurile humour had more emotional investment.

Blah, I really love that film and it's far superior to all the films you're comparing it to.
Birch and Buscemi really made that movie for me.
