i was expressing confusion at the popular opinion you brought up rather than you personally! He is arrogant but in the context of drummers for huge heavy metal bands he is probably entitled, and especially for fledgling bands that kind of self belief can carry you further. He seemed quite reasonable in that hilarious documentary filmed around St.Anger's release (god that album sucked), I loved the bit when he sold his collection of horrible paintings on the advice of the his rock therapist.
