One thing I noticed in this thread is the lack of explaining that there is a definitional difference regarding purity, provocativeness and perversion concerning the words nudity (or nude) and naked.

Nudity (or Nude, etc), is usually considered to be when the person or persons are exhibiting for a form of art or self-expression

While being Naked is usually considered to be the perversion to gain provocative thought out of others.

Being naked is usually considered to be the thing in society most people don't want to see is put up usually for shock value. (And quite literally is usually not considered being sexy, although it's the way some show off sexual perversions in society such as pedophilia). And that's why usually in locker rooms or showers you will here the word 'naked' or various ways to describe what a person with no clothes are. And usually it's not considered a form of self-expression but more a form of deviance -- that's why you usually heard the word naked to describe 'streakers' in the 1970's or for persons who in later days participate in organized and sometimes not so organized runs in public places. The state of being naked was also used to describe the legendary Lady Godiva. The word naked is also what is usually termed to describe a person unclothed who is not considered attractive (overweight, etc) and usually is not associated with either the act of sex or being sexy.

Nudity on the other hand is usually considered to be a form of self-expression, especially in terms of art, but in other ways as well. This is what nudist camps or colonies are trying for. (Although many people at nudist camps and colonies would certainly be considered by most in the mainstream of mostly a clothed society, except for the foreplay leading to sex or the sex itself or private masturbation, to be naked instead of nude).

I myself don't see anything wrong with nudity as self-expression or art work (I'm actually in the process of trying to lose weight and buff up for one reason {although not the sole reason} because I'd like to explore either having nude pictures taken of myself and/or doing nearly nude dancing -- and actually for a living -- and yes I'm a male -- and no I'm not ***, although I do have a little bi-curiousity -- but wouldn't want to fulfill any of that curiosity -- maybe occassionally looking at others participating in such is my limit). And yes, I will ogle and drool over pictures of the ladies who have big boobs. But I do agree I really don't want to see all the time the naked people who constantly are exposing what's between their crotches.
