You know, that's usually the argument homophobes state against coming out, this apparent "rubbing it in everyone's face". Sometimes a person's sexuality is a rather important part of their personality. And seeing as how it's a minority issue, meaning everyone (justifiably) assumes that you're straight, it becomes important to point out that you're not or are questioning it. It certainly beats denial, staying in the closet and/or lying about it.
