Default Hey.. How ya doin'?

Alright, settle down, prostitutes.

Here's a little bit of a low-down on the ol' sac d'elephant.

Music isn't so much of a "thing" for me as it is a way of life. I play bass and do vocals in a band called Aftermath with my brother and a friend. myspace.com/ftrmth
I've been a fan all of my life. People tell me that I'm good at memorizing little tidbits of information about my favorite bands: lyrics, albums, track lists, line up changes, etc.. I attribute this to my first favorite band, Alice in Chains. When bassist Mike Starr was replaced by Mike Inez, who previously played bass for Ozzy Osbourne, and this sort of attention to detail remained with me into my later favorites- Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Mr. Bungle, Opeth.

I don't really understand people who don't like to go to concerts. I don't know. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I was a die-hard metal head for a long time. I've since broadened my horizons, but never lost that initial love for the punch-in-the-face intensity of a great metal song, be it heavy, death, black, math, doom, sludge, trudge, hardcore or grindcore.

Areas that I eventually expanded into include Punk, Reggae, Ska, Blues, Classical, Jazz, Fusion, Prog, and the kind of unclassifiable instrumental bands like Dysrhythmia, Russian Circles and Grails.

I take pride in my music. Not only what I write, but also what I listen to. I'm good at maintaining a modicum of composure, but I am easily peeved when somebody trashes a band, album or even song that I'm currently obsessed with.

I'm a music nerd, I guess is what I'm getting at.

Nice to meet you.
