If one were to take an extreme utilitarian point of view towards humanity then yes the only "purpose" of a female is to birth and care for a child but by that same token the only "purpose" of the male is to impregnate the female and hunt.

This all begs the question though what exactly is the point of life beyond reproducing? There's no room for intellect in that philosophy or really anything beyond sex and eating in fact when talking about that I hate to use the word purpose because it implies that you're moving towards something, in reality all you're doing is keeping the human race going for another generation.
