The way its used in the religious connotation is "the big pay off for being obedient all these years".
If I could imagine any idea of what heaven
could be, I think it exists in death itself: freedom. Absolute emancipation from the chains of physical reality. The freedom to let whatever energy you accept as your "soul" explore the realms of the cosmos without being hindered or limited.
It might go something like that, if we're talking postmortem.
