I would try opera from the classical period, particularly Mozart. You said you were looking for more relaxing, less intense stuff so I would not really look into Romantic opera like Wagner, which tends to be very dramatic and intense. Check out Mozart's comedies, for example you could start with one of his most well known, Don Giovanni.
