It's difficult but IMO the only way you can get rid of factory farming is to promote organic farming, that would be a long going process. But with all the time, money and energy going into promoting alternative energy sources. I don't know why we're not doing the same thing when concerning our food.
I think what would be more important is for people to eat less meat, as well as promoting either organic farming, or making slaughter houses more sanitary, with higher standards. This would be much easier to meet if the average American's diet didn't have so much meat in it. We really shouldn't eat this much meat, we don't need to eat this much meat.
