I'm not sure who you're speaking for when you say "the Americans", but in my school they taught us just as much about the eastern front and the Soviets' contribution as they did the western front. And while I won't speak for a whole country and say "the British", based on my experiences,
most British people are quick to dismiss anything pro-American as arrogance and ignorance, when in fact, it is history. The bottom line is both the Soviets and the Americans we're crucial to the Allies success, and without one or the other the world may have been a very different place right now
