Default Second Rate Third Degree Burns

Just another new person, after reading a few posts I figured I'd join up, being the avid music aficionado I am.

Some bands/artists I enjoy listening to:
The Doors, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Porcupine Tree, Djali Zwan, Supertramp, The Toadies, Buddy Holly, Modest Mouse, The Cure, The Beatles, ELO, Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Collective Soul, The Smiths, The Velvet Underground, Generation X, Metro Station, Panic! At the Disco, Fall Out Boy, Flogging Molly, Radiohead, Meat Loaf, Joy Division, The Youngbloods, Buffalo Springfield, Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Tears For Fears, Echo and the Bunnymen, Aphex Twin, Daft Punk, Social Distortion, The Cramps, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers (back when their songs were really only about heroin and SoCal), Sublime, Frank Sinatra, Weezer, Nat King Cole, Nine Inch Nails, The Flaming Lips, Blue Oyster Cult, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Alkaline Trio, The Suicide Machines, Soul Asylum, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Adam and the Ants, Death Cab for Cutie, Prodigy, Tool, Roxy Music, The Aquabats, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dead Milkmen, Everclear, Belle & Sebastian, Bobby Darin, pre-Islamic Cat Stevens, Bullet For My Valentine, Senses Fail, Garbage, Placebo....

Truthfully, I listen to a bit of everything. This is a sample, really. My musical tastes are all over the board. I sing a bit myself, but haven't been in a band since high school.

Edit: Posting a list of the music I like doesn't say much about me, does it? Here's a bit of bio:
I'm a 19-year-old (20 on Steve Carell and Madonna's birthday) female former art student who, after almost three years of complete independence and freedom in Los Angeles and Arizona has had to (due to an unfortunate monetary incident involving bad luck and sh*tty roommates who don't know how to foot their own bills) temporarily move back in with her family in good ol' Holts Summit, MO. I miss my brief childhood home of Alamogordo, NM almost as much as I miss Los Angeles. I'm a history junkie and infophile, an avid film geek, and a pretty good artist (if I do say so myself.) I love stand-up comedy. My heroes include Hunter S. Thompson, Jim Morrison, Ken Kesey, Kurt Cobain, Billy Corgan, Mitch Hedberg, Kevin Smith, Syd Barrett (even if he was a nut), John Lennon, George Harrison, and Jhonen Vasquez. I am often told I look like a female version of Jason Schwartzman. I don't know why.

But yeah. I hope to find some interesting individuals to chat with about what I love here at MusicBanter, and I'm sure I will. Peace, everyone.
