I think Daniel might live (hopefully), as for a while I was pissed because I thought they killed off Locke (when Ben shot him into the pit). And as for this undoing business, I doubt it will work. We still got 20 episodes left and I doubt they'll all be about the quest to undo things.
I'm depressed at the very prospect of Daniel dying, but satasfied with this episodes many answers. Also, Widmore being the father..
