No way, is Pete Twonsend better then Keith Richards,
Here is 10 reasons why?
0. Keith Richards is the first blues-rock guitarist from the UK (I'm not say the best but the first)
1. The Beatles disasssociated themselves from the British Invasion feeling everyband wanted to be them, so that leaves The Rolling Stones as the premier British Invasion band.
2. He's a pirate, Captain Jack Sparrows father
3. He names his guitars, he doesn't smash them into peices, he gives them names like "Micawber" "Malcomb" "Dice" "Dwight" which is way cooler then smashing them.
3. He learned every Robert Johnson song.
4. He owned the first Les Paul that had a Bigsby vibrato on it in the UK.
5. He plays a 5-string guitar tune to an open G chord,
6. He detunes his guitars, he doesn't smash them.
7. Aftermath was an influence on The Beatle's Sgt. Pepper album.
8. You can't understand a single word he says.
9. He covered blues artist like Slim Harpo and Willie Dixon.
10. Pete Townsend got his windmill move from imitating Keith Richards.

N.B. Danny Gatton (45) and Link Wray (23) were guitarist for Robert Gordon (not together but at different times)

Mick Ralphs (Mott the Hopple, Bad Company) where is he on the list???
If you caninclude Mickey Baker as a session musician then include
Tommy Todesco (Association, Beach Boys, Everly Brothers, Fifth Demension, Elvis Frank Zappa, etc etc)
Hank Garland (Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline)

What about these guitar player?
Def Leppard:
Steve Clark
Phil Collen
The Ventures:
Bob Boggle
Don Wilson
Nokie Edwards
Jerry Magee

and you might care for these guys but I would included them...
Richard Lloyd (Televison) didn't see him on the list??
Jo Callis (The Rezillos)
Andy Gill (Gang of Four)
Sammy James, Jr. & Graham Tyler, (The Mooney Suzuki)
Albert Hammond, Jr. & Nick Velensi (The Strokes)
