I really wish my knowledge of Breakbeat was more comprehensive as I love this genre but I can only give the same band names out:

Freestylers
Krafty Kuts
A.Skillz
Stanton Warriors
Freq Nasty

as you say it's the big beats but within an easily digestable frame. A funky huge bass line is the business.
