Linking drums, loops, synths and clicks LIVE
Im currently trying to work out how to perform stuff ive recorded with my band live. We use a few loops and synths and need to know how to get it all synced up. The loops are all out of Logic and the synth is just a roland juno. The synth can obviously be hooked up with midi to the laptop so thats not really the problem.
The thing is is that we need then loops to come it an the right tempo in the middle of a song. This obviously requires some kind of click track for the drummer to follow, which Logic has. but if i play it through logic then the click will be part of the FoH mix which will sound crap. Im thinking maybe getting some kind of external click/metronome device that can be midi'd to the laptop and also a output that can be put through the mixer separately and so just be in the drummers monitors.
Would this work? if so, what is a cheap(ish) unit to do it, and are there any easier ways?
