He is a part of his state's government but like I said not a part of the US government. I'm sure this sounds like serious hair-splitting to you, but the way things are set up here, at least in theory, states are their own entities with their own constitutions and their own governments that are kind of separate from the federal government. That's why we call them states and not provinces. So while it's true that he does represent a state that is part of the US, he is not a part of
my government.
