If not, a wake is when after the funeral, people go back to a pub and have a few drinks and eat a bit of buffet.

Random off-topic fact, the other day I learnt that the term 'wake' comes from way back when people in comas and stuff were sometimes mistaken as being dead and were buried alive. So when somebody died, people used to place the dead (or coma-ed) person in the middle of a space and party and dance and sing loudly around them to try and wake them up. Weird.
