Actually.. Over here, a Wake is traditionally performed before the funeral. It's the viewing of the body and the paying of the respects. It's the more personal aspects of the burial. The burial itself follows the Wake, in which the casket and funeral procession follows, escorted by police, to the cemetery in which the casket will be laid.

I don't eat during either affair.
