After the first times I beat Red&Blue/Silver&Gold, I would always make a promise to myself to try to beat the game with all new pokemon. But of course I would just end up having the same conversation in my head, which basically was this:
"Fuck this, how the shit am I supposed to win without Pidgeot? How the fuck am I supposed to beat Gary's retarded Charizard without Golduck? And what about Dugtrio? DUGTRIO FUCKING RULES MAN! STOP BEING A PUSSY AND CAPTURE A FUCKING DIGLETT RIGHT NOW!".
And of course I would end up with a like a lv 50 Graveler or some shit because everyone I knew who played pokemon was a werido, and I'd be damned if they didn't trade him back. My standard six would usually be this:
Venusaur (Because he was super-effective against the first TWO gym leaders, and Lt. Surge's pokemon would be like wet batteries against his awesome foliage. Plus you find solarbeam later on down the road too, rad!)
