Objectively, I'd say the top rock bands of all-time are these:
1. The Beatles
2. The Rolling Stones
3. The Who
4. Led Zeppelin
5. Pink Floyd
6. U2
7. The Beach Boys
After that it gets really tricky to rank them, with plenty of contenders like the Kinks, Black Sabbath, the Doors, the Grateful Dead, Queen, CCR, Nirvana, etc. But that top seven ought to be unquestionable, I think, despite quibbles about the exact order after the obvious top three.
