Adam Green and Kimya Dawson used to comprise a two-piece folk group called The Moldy Peaches. They were revered by second and third generation hipster kids for their low-fi recordings and simplistic, softspoken folk ditties. "Anyone Else but You" was perhaps their most popular tune, and you may have heard it on the soundtrack for the film "Juno".
Eventually, the two split and tried to jumpstart solo careers. Adam Green has entertained more success than Kimya, and this might not come as much of a surprise to MP fans as Green was far more talented both as a musician and a songwriter. While Kimya continued to embrace the lightheartedness that she exuded in the Moldy Peaches, Green chose to incorporate more graphic and irreverent elements into his solo material.
