There was quite a mix of people in my school but I get the feeling that our schools arent quite as "cliquey" as in America (not that i would know personally of course) but that may have something to do with the fact that their schools seems to be bigger and there seems to be more kids in them than they are here.
Shootings and what have you are nowhere near as common here, but I wonder how much different our schools really would be if our countries were of similar size and population. While I was at school there was a kid expelled for bringing a knife and our rival school from just up the road came down with knives on at least one occasion. And our school had a really good rep.
