My mother really has no taste whatsoever, just the other day she had me upload linkin park, creed, and some bootleg Chicago album her coworker gave her. Her favorite bands include U2 and UFO.
My father is the exact opposite. He never really influenced me or my tastes due to our limited contact, but he did work at Alligator records and currently has around 3k CDs and a mess of albums. He's really into stuff like kyuss and fu manchu, and has a ton of blues stuff.
Honestly I couldn't care less what they listen to. I've never once had a conversation about music with either of them and I don't really plan on having any in the future.
