..good thread idea by the way.

My mom doesn't listen to music that often. Her tastes are what most middle aged women listen to: paul simon(and garfunkle), buena vista social club, leon redbone...I remember when I was kid she'd either play graceland, or that one bobby mcferrin album.

My dads favourites are thelonious monk, ray charles, and the band, some classic rock staples and a lot of old soul and gospel music. He has a lot of random-azz selections in his cd library though: I remember he had public enemy-yo bum rush the show, one ramones album, he also had dance mix 93-which had bobby browns humpin' around, and the "I like to move it,move it" song on it--that me and my older bro listened to constantly....he also loves george jones...and he played the possum at full blast to get us out of bed for school, knowing he wouldn't turn it off until we got up...but I ended up loving george jones when I grew up.
