I kinda thought the mods knew when people made multiple accounts, what with it happening all the time anyway, and those accounts being banned. I can't say for sure though...
Yea, it could be kind of a dumb idea... I just think it would make things a bit more interesting.
And it could work. Not that it matters in the grand scheme of life and the universe or whatever. It's just a forum... So I don't see what the harm is.
