I have managed to pick up a copy of Ibrahim Ferrer's album there. I given it a few listens but haven't managed to properly get into to the point that I know it inside-out. That's not to say I didn't like it - I loved it, particularly how it combines sones with boleros - upbeat, rhythm-centric pieces with ballads over an album. Top stuff, in other words. I'd need a few more listens before I can set about picking favourite tracks though. Mami Me Gusto there, a classic example of a Cuban 'son', was one of many highlights for me

I found Ibrahim's solo style a bit jazzier than Buena Vista Social Club's. And at times his style almost reminded me of Dean Martin's, particularly in the song Nuestra Última Cita. I too, enjoyed all of the different layouts of the songs. Kept things pretty interesting. The amount of piano used really surprised me. Normally wouldn't think a piano would be a typical instrument that they use in Cuban music, but I guess I am mistaken.
