Well to be honest I thought Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction had some very fascinating and well written characters which was a big part of their appeal, as they weren't really action films like Tarantino's later work.

Inglorious Bastards seems like it's gonna lack the interesting characters that his earlier films had. Hopefully there will be enough kickass action to make up for it.

I found Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill to be way too unlikable to really care what happens to her, I found the villians to be not only way more interesting but even more likable than the protagonist, I still thought the first Kill Bill was excellent for it's fight scenes, gory death scenes and the over the top style that Tarantino does best, in fact I consider it to be one of the most brilliant action films ever made. However I felt the second film suffered from spending way too much time on the backstories and trying to get us to care about the main character.

I felt that was a step backwards, why have all the action in the first film and then stuff all the backstory and dialogue into the sequel? I still thought vol 2 was very good though, just a bit of a let down when compared to vol 1.

I know people say it's better because of character development, but who f*cking asked for character development in a retro style kung fu action film? I sure as hell didn't.
