Cameo and the Bar-Kays had to be the funkiest bands of the 80s!!! I might add Ohio Players, Bootsy, and Funkadelic in there too.
Prince was pop compared to these bad ass mo fo's!!!
btw, i dont think Cameo changed that much, they just shifted like many other bands like them to a more 80s dance style sound. They were still funky as hell!!!
Cameo tried real hard to still be funky and change with the times. that's where the quirkyness and cheesyness came in to play!!!
