The melodies are too safe and perfected, the production is too clean, and all the noise-aesthetics really sound samey from start to finish (all the guitar squall and sqwuaking just doesn't sound different to me). It's still hard to deny an opener like "Teenage Riot" and that lovely break "Providence" though, some of their better moments in terms of songwriting/album crafting.

This is the closest I've ever come to agreeing with criticism of this album even though I think any negative criticism is self-indulgent because it is simply a good album - no reason to stop listening to it. Still, everything that came before it is just as good or better.
