Are you sure you're allowed to pick other Beethoven pieces? Or even another piece from the Classical era? Obviously it depends what kind of program you're looking into, but from my experience, one needs to pick 2 contrasting pieces from the same era, 1 from another era, and 1 20th century.

If you are picking another Beethoven, I would suggest "Moonlight Sonata," because the piece will probably have to contrast "Ode to Joy"/ Symphony No. 9. It differs in structure and tempo. I'm sure there are guitar arrangements out there (I'm assuming you are doing classical guitar). Look in every music shop you pass on the street. It is probably in the form of sheet music.

If you need something from another era, I strongly suggest a piece by Fernando Sor. Sor was an early composer of guitar music, active in the 19th century (Romantic era). Maurice Ravel is good as well.

20th century guitar pieces are easy to find as the instrument became more popular!

You said guitar isn't your best instrument, so what is? I don't want you to feel intimidated going into those auditions. I've been playing flute for 13 years (started when I was 6, do the math!) and even I felt a little intimidation at my auditions, though I had more experience than my competitors!

I did 8 auditions and 2 video auditions. Wow.

I'm a second year university music major, so if you have any questions, just PM me. I'm glad to hear that you're interested in a music program of some kind. In this economy, music is your best bet!
