SRV's sound is Stevie love for all aspects of the guitar, (he's not playing just to get through a song,) he owns the song, he gives it 110% effort, he plays the guitar flawlessly, and he infuses it with emotion - that's the Soul. Another factor of the SRV's sound is his Tone it's his Stratocaster with heavy guage string, and tube amps. etc. He had Soul and Tone.
