That is yet another huge problem I have with the genre. I hold first and third person shooters solely responsable for Unreal Engine style graphics. Which to me means awful turd brown color schemes and excessive overuse of shadow textering and bloom effects.
Which is without a doubt one of the very worst trends in modern gaming.
