I partially agree with you, but there are different types of reactions I've encountered. The most prevalent two being from the Atheist:
"Dude, God doesn't even exist. You're a f
ucking idiot.....blahblah."
And the believer:
"How could you believe that God doesn't exist? God loves you, even if you don't love him...............blahblah."
I've witnessed many more rude reactions from Atheists than from any believers, but that could be because of who I find myself surrounded by.
Am I wrong?
...At least on the Atheist part. I didn't have a solid example for the believer.
