haha, wow, so I can't buy my kid any video games because he might be punished and have to go to his room one day? That's what it sounds like you are saying.

I NEVER stated that every kid who gets punished with a belt (etc.) comes out a good kid. It works for some and not for others. It never worked for my brother but most of that is my mom's fault because when my parents divorced, he went to live with her and she babied him so he grew up a bit arrogant. He got away with everything because she was too soft to punish him in any way so he knew when he did something wrong, he could still go out with his friends and have a good time. He wasn't like that when my parents were together because my dad punished us with the belt.

I used myself as just as an example of how I grew up and how it made me turn out. I never once said that it works for everyone. I was just saying that it worked for me.

Don't put words in my mouth, please.
